As a retired WCPS educator/librarian, I bring a respect for facts, research, process, organization, preparation, and collaboration. Commissioners must work together - with each other, with staff, with municipalities, and with the community - to find solutions.

Transparent, responsive government

Restoring transparent, responsive government is essential to rebuilding the trust eroded by the ban on public comment and other BOCC actions. The trust of the community is needed to successfully address the county’s challenges. Rebuilding that trust is a priority.

Experience

My 40-year career with WCPS gives me the background to understand, monitor, and interact effectively with the Board of Education which received 36%, the largest share, of the county budget.

Results over politics

I will focus on results, not re-election. I am not dependent on a commissioner’s pay or benefits, and I have no realtor, contractor, or personal business entanglements.
